Bracing and Cabling
We receive a lot of questions on tree cabling and bracing options, especially when someone has a falling tree or dying limbs and they aren’t sure if the tree needs to be cut down. Sometimes when a tree is otherwise healthy or not a hazard, a limb or two is weak or at risk for becoming a hazard due to various circumstances. For instance, an old oak tree with horizontal limbs could become a hazard during a heavy snowstorm, if the weight of snow on the limb becomes too much to bear. If that tree limb is poised over a fence or vulnerable piece of property, this could cause a hassle down the road and lead to you needing an emergency tree service after the next big storm. Instead of dealing with an emergency later, Schaumburg Tree Service can brace or cable the weak tree limb to provide it with extra support or stability.
If bracing or cabling a tree limb is an option, it could help your trees become less susceptible to stressors like heavy rain or high winds. We generally would not brace a dead tree or dead tree limb. Our arborists can recommend tree cabling or bracing the limbs as an alternative to tree trimming if it is an appropriate and cost-effective option for you.
If your tree has gotten too big for its spot in the yard and is starting to encroach upon your power lines (or your neighbor's fence!), give us a call! Our arborists are quick workers and are always friendly and polite. We happily provide trimming services in order to maintain compliance with utility lines. Additionally, we can trim trees that are becoming a little overgrown or growing in a direction that just isn’t acceptable. Fortunately, we provide residential and commercial tree trimming and tree pruning services for those times when you don’t need to remove the entire tree.
